Screen Shot 2018-08-30 at 2.48.24 PM

Hello, my name is Oteskwebeeksaki (Bluebird woman) Dezbah (going to war) Shebala. I am 14 years old and am entering the 9th grade at Coeur d’Alene High School in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. My mother’s family is from the Blackfeet nation and my father’s family is from the Naajo nation. My late great-grandmother, Avis Paul, was a founding member of the United Blackfeet Association and my mother Paula (McCurtain) Shebala grew up here in Seattle.

As Miss Seafair 2017-2018 I have proudly represented at 28 Powwows. Besides Powwows, this year I have worked hard in my school and sports. It was a bit of a challenge to travel and hold a 3.8 GPA, as well as playing on an AAU basketball team and run cross-country and track. We always look forward to coming to Seattle to see friends and family.

It was an awesome year representing as the 2017-2018 Miss Seafair, and I would like to encourage the youth to always try hard, take care of their elders, and be kind to everyone!!!
